Celebrating Hope

 In God Stories

This year, the OM flagship, Logos Hope celebrates her 10th anniversary. Having sailed to 70 countries, 161 ports of call, received nearly 8 million visitors, and sold more than 8 million books, almost 2.5 million of which have been Christian books and Bibles, Logos Hope is a testament to God’s faithfulness over a very unique and impactful ministry.

Succeeding its predecessors, Logos, Doulos, and Logos II, Logos Hope was purchased in 2004. After going through a complete renovation to transform her from a ferry into the ship she is today, Logos Hope launched into active service in Feb 2009. Since then, God has placed His wind in her sails—and be it giving Bibles to monks in Myanmar, fitting eye-glasses for a struggling community in Madagascar, spending time with prison inmates in Trinidad and Tobago, or telling the Gospel story in Curaçao, this special vessel has pointed many to the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

OM Ships CEO, Seelan Govender says, “I believe that OM Ships exists to show that Jesus makes the difference in all of our lives. We take the message of the Gospel to some of the least-reached peoples and places in order to fulfil what is written in Revelation 7:9, that one day, there will be a great multitude representing all nations, tribes and peoples standing before the throne of heaven.”

Join the OM Logos Hope Ship as a long-term worker or sign up for the three-month Short-Term Exposure Programme (STEP), which happens a few times a year.
