Lawrence Tong

International Director, OM

Lawrence Tong was appointed the International Director of Operation Mobilisation (OM) in 2013. Lawrence visited the OM ship, Logos, in Singapore in 1974 and subsequently joined the ministry team on OM’s second ship, Doulos, in 1978.

Lawrence graduated from Biola University (Southern California) with a degree in Communications. He also holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of LaVerne (California).

Lawrence’s leadership journey in OM has included serving on the Board of OM Singapore, as OM country leader for Taiwan, as Director of OM’s third ship, Logos II as well as in financial development with the OM Ships office in Florence, South Carolina. He is also recognised to have led the fast‐ growing work of OM in an East Asia country with a significant focus on welfare and agricultural programmes.

A visionary leader, Lawrence is committed to fostering innovation in world missions, inspiring people to pray, give and go.

Kenneth Bong

Leadership Coach & Trainer, OM

After serving on board an OM ship for 2 years and being OM Singapore’s Executive Director for 15 years, Kenneth became Regional Director of OM South East Asia from 2004 to 2012. He specialises in leadership development, management, planning and strategic thinking.

He holds a Master of Theological Studies from Trinity Theological College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (National University of Singapore).

Jiamin Choo-Fong

Alumni Speaker

Jiamin served on board the OM ship Doulos from 2005 to 2009 and wrote “Out of the Harbour”, a book based on her missionary experiences in sharing the Gospel in over 30 countries from 2005 to 2009.

She served as OM Singapore’s Missions Coordinator, engaging churches and individuals in missions and doing missions training. As an itinerant speaker, many are inspired by her messages. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology (National University of Singapore) and a Masters of Arts in Biblical Studies (Singapore Bible College).

With her husband, Minghui, she serves as a worker with OM in Japan today.

I’Ching Thomas

Associate International Director, Global Resourcing

A Malaysian, I’Ching holds a B.A. in Communications and worked for many years as a marketing and communications consultant before joining OM as a missionary in a Middle Eastern country.

In 2004, I’Ching received her M.A. in Christian Apologetics from Biola University California and subsequently joined Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM) for 10 years as an itinerant apologist and Director of Training for Asia.

Besides cultural apologetics, her area of specialty is in the relevance of Christianity in the Eastern cultural context. I’Ching also speaks globally at universities, churches and conferences to help Christians develop a robust understanding and defense of their faith.

Rev Rodney Hui

Area Missions Mentor, OM East Asia Area

In his 40 years with OM, Rodney has lived in 6 countries and on board 3 OM ships – Logos, Doulos and Logos Hope.

After founding OM Singapore, he served as National Director for 10 years. From 1995 to 2010, he was Area Director, East Asia Pacific. For four years, he served on the leadership team on board MV Logos Hope.

Rodney authored several books, including “Been There, Done That”, “Keep Going” and “The Voyage of the Logos Hope”. He is an ordained minister of the Presbyterian Church in Singapore.

Alvin Tey

Associate Area Leader, OM East Asia Area

Alvin oversees the work in People and Organisational Development in OM East Asia Area. Previously heading the work in OM Mercy Teams International (MTI), Alvin has a passion for social and economic justice. He holds a Master in Christian Studies from the Biblical Graduate School of Theology and a PhD in Intercultural Studies with Biola University. He also has a BSc (Government and Economics) from London School of Economics, and has held strategic and senior management roles in the public sector and two universities in Singapore, and with a global business consulting firm.

Terence Loke

Area Service Hub Leader, OM East Asia Area

Terence served on board the OM ship Doulos for 2 years and did ministry in over 13 countries. For more than 20 years, he served as the local and regional Personnel Manager, Acting Executive Director and the Executive Director of OM Singapore.

Terence specialises in the administrative ministry and is passionate about screening and mentoring individuals who are preparing for missionary service.

Edwin and Mary Koh

Mobilising and Local Ministry, OM Singapore

For 18 years, Edwin Koh (高瑞秦) and Mary Koh (罗燕怀), together with their three children, were involved in bible distribution, friendship evangelism, and church planting ministries in a least-reached nation. They also initiated a Business as Mission (BAM) platform there and were given the opportunity to pioneer and pastor a mainland Chinese fellowship.

Based in OM Singapore now, Edwin is the Local Ministry Team Leader, leading teams to minister to marginalised, least-reached communities in Singapore. A former Mobiliser with OM Singapore, Mary is a Coach Facilitator with OM East Asia Area. Both Edwin and Mary have been invited to speak at several churches about ministry and missions in English and Mandarin.

Samuel Nee

Partnership Development Coordinator, OM Singapore

Samuel and his wife, Marianne, embarked on a missions journey in 2012 with YWAM (Youth With A Mission). Samuel’s heart was captivated by the mission of God in the field, leading him and Marianne on an overland mission to East Asia and Central Asia.

Today, Samuel serves as a partnership development coordinator in OM Singapore where he engages churches and individuals to give to missions. He also conducts engaging bible talks and missions workshops for young people.

Samuel holds a B.A. in Communications (NUS) and enjoys golf, hockey, and floor ball for recreation.
